David: communicating with God -- David, nimbed and crowned, kneels with joined hands, looking up toward hand of God in arc of Heaven emitting rays. Psaltery is on ground next to David.
Scene in barren landscape with leaf-less trees, in initial A decorated with floreate ornament.
Margins decorated with gold and with border of floreate ornament inhabited by: putto, beads around neck, backturned, standing on flower, holding with raised right hand, leash of dog jumping toward large brown locust; large green locust holding (?) in its mouth right hand of putto, winged, wearing rosary or beads around neck; putto, winged, climbing vine; bird, wings extended, standing on fly, pecking at eye (?) of the fly; putto, wearing rosary or beads around neck, standing on flower, straddling and bending over bird; winged putto, with rosary or beads around neck, playing rebec; beetle on rose.
In lower margin, four putti, two winged, wearing rosaries or beads around necks, hold foliate medallion enclosing escutcheon (a shield argent a cross or surrounded by a cincture vert).
At beginning of introit for 1st Sunday of Advent.
