Miniature:
Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, eyes closed, wearing crown of thorns and short loin cloth, is affixed to cross with three nails. He is flanked on left by Virgin Mary, with joined hands raised at her breast, and donor, Hugo von Hohenlandenberg of Constance, wearing bishop's vestments with gloves, kneeling with joined hands raised at base of the cross, and on right by Evangelist John with hands raised.
Floreate Border:
At left, two birds, one possibly owl. At bottom, two heraldic escutcheons of Hugo von Hohenlandenberg, surmounted by bishop's miter and crozier with pannisellus; the left shield, argent a cross gules, and the right shield, quarterly 1 and 4 gules, three annulets argents, 2 and 3 quarterly sable and or.
