Within initial I, Hippolytus, wearing armor, holding in right hand bannered spear inscribed with initial Y, and shield decorated with heraldry (argent, two lions gules counter-salient). Initial decorated with foliate ornament.
Virgin Mary: Death -- Within initial U, Virgin Mary, with joined hands raised, kneeling beside draped bed, is supported by Evangelist John, reaching across the bed. They are flanked by 12 apostles, including Peter raising key or aspergil with right hand and holding book with left hand, apostle holding left hand to head, one kneeling next to the bed, and another seated next to bed holding open book. Above, small nude personification of soul extends both arms to Christ, rays as cross nimbus.
