Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, with crossed nimbus, wearing crown of thorns and short loin cloth, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to tau cross with titulus inscribed I.N.R.I. Flanking the cross are Virgin Mary, nimbed, with hands crossed on breast, and Evangelist John, nimbed, with right hand on his face and holding book in left arm. Above are sun and moon. In background is road leading to gate of city of Jerusalem and distant hills.
Margins with ivy-rinceaux, floreate, and vinescroll ornament. Baguettes with floreate patterns in left, lower, and right margins. In lozenge in right margin is owl. In lower margin are bird and peacock.
