Initial I superimposed with four medallions enclosing two scenes:
1) Martin of Tours: Vision -- In first medallion, Christ, nimbed, raising right hand in blessing, holds cloak with left hand. In second medallion, Martin reclines on draped bed or matress.
2) Martin of Tours: dividing Cloak -- In third medallion, Martin divides cloak with sword held in right hand. In medallion below, beggar, raising right hand, kneels, looking up toward Martin.
Foliate ornament in medallion at base of initial.
