Group of 21 Roman Senators, wearing hats or headgear, some hats brimmed, conical, pointed, or draped, some in conversation with each other. All stand in room with seven windows, arched opening and tiled floor, three steps in foreground. Figures painted in grisaille. Margins decorated with ivy-rinceaux and floreate ornament, including daisies, cornflowers and strawberries, miniature within gold frame. Initial C of Cescun decorated with heraldry of the Créquy family (or, wild plum gules). Miniature for beginning of Prologue (Chapter 856) of Faits de Romans.
