Half-length figure of Solon of Athens, wearing hat and ermine-trimmed mantle, with right hand holding roll, in front of marble-paneled wall. Surrounding borders with three winding scrolls at top inscribed with motto, QVI VOITe CLAIR NE SE FOVRVOYE QVI VA SAVF IL FAVLT QVIL VOIE, at left QVI VOIT CLAIR NE SE FOVRVOYE QVI VA QVI VOIT, at right SAVF IL FAVLT QVIL VOIE. In lower border, escutcheon decorated with heraldry of Husson Tonnere impaling Vauferrier, flanked by two birds and portion of scroll inscribed with motto QVI VOIT and QVI VA.
