Month, Occupation: January -- In front of fireplace and with his back to firescreen of woven rushes, man, wearing hat, sits at draped table. On the table are bowl that he holds with both hands, plates, and utensils. Before table, man wearing hat, with cloth over left shoulder, holds platter on which is food. In background is draped cabinet on which are pitcher and bowl (?). Mat of woven rushes is on floor; arched doorway is at right.
Margins decorated with border of floreate and foliate ornament.
