Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, nimbed, wearing crown of thorns and short loin cloth, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INRI. Flanking the cross are Evangelist John, nimbed, supporting Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with joined hands raised, swooning; and by Joseph of Arimathea, wearing hat and ermine-trimmed garment; man, wearing hat; and helmeted soldier, holding halberd. City of Jerusalem in background.
