Center miniature:
Clement VII, Pope: Scene, Asperging Congregation -- Six mitered bishops stand behind Pope Clement VII, wearing triple papal tiara with infulae, papal vestments, and gloves, holding aspergil in raised right hand. Flanking the pope are two tonsured deacons, one holding situla in right hand and the other holding censer in left hand. Tonsured deacon holding cross-staff (processional cross) with both hands stands to right. In arched doorway at right stand congregation, including man with ermine-collared mantle, wearing hat with badge, and other men wearing hats.
Three oval medallions in outer left margin:
1) Half-figure of pope, nimbed, wearing triple papal tiara and papal vestments, stands and holds cope in right hand and book with two clasps in left hand. Dove of Holy Ghost, emitting rays, descends from left.
2) Half-figure of bearded man stands and holds sword in right hand.
3) Half-figure of bishop, nimbed, wearing miter and vestments, stands and holds book with two clasps in right hand and crozier in left hand.
Three medallions and plaque in inner left margin:
1) Bearded man, turning head to right, sits and holds scroll in both hands.
2) Scroll inscribed SVAVE encircling emblem.
3) Half figure of bearded man, wearing hood, stands and turns to look over left shoulder.
Plaque inscribed CLEMENS VII. PONTIF. OPT. MAX. JULIUS DE MEDICIS FLORENTINUS LEONIS X. FRATER PATRUELIS
Four medallions on center axis:
1) Hawk, with tether tied to right leg, holds in right talons ring around which twines scroll inscribed SEMPER.
2) In medallion is ring around which are three plumes (feathers) and scroll inscribed SEMPER. In lunette is ring around which are three plumes and scroll inscribed SEMPER.
3) Escutcheon with arms of Pope Clement VII (or 5 torteaux (2, 2 and 1), a hurt charged with three fleurs-de-lys or), over crossed keys and surmounted by triple papal tiara with cross-inscribed infulae.
4) Escutcheon with arms of Pope Clement VII (or 5 torteaux (2, 2 and 1), a hurt charged with three fleurs-de-lys or), over crossed keys and surmounted by triple papal tiara with cross-inscribed infulae, all before red curtain.
Three medallions and plaque in inner right margin:
1) Half-figure of bearded man holds scroll in both hands.
2) Scroll inscribed SVAVE encircling emblem, at center of which is letter N.
3) Half-figure of bearded man, looking to left, holding open book with both hands.
Plaque inscribed ELECTUS SUM. PONTIF. ANNO DOMINI MDXXIII.

1) Bearded man, nimbed, with right hand gestures to open book held in left hand.
2) Bearded man, with right hand to his face, holding cup in left hand, sits before grapevine and house.
3) Nimbed bishop, wearing miter and monk's robe, stands and holds book in left hand.
