Virgin Mary and Christ Child: with Saints -- Louis IX of France, nimbed, crowned, wearing mantle inscribed with fleur-de-lis (Heraldry, French: King of France), holding scepter in left hand, stands beside Mary Magdalen, nimbed, veiled, holding ointment jar in left hand. Both place their right hands on shoulder of kneeling nun, wearing habit, holding object, possibly purse or rosary, in her joined raised hands. Before her on bench sits Virgin Mary, nimbed, crowned, and holding in her arms Christ Child, with crossed nimbus, holding bird (?) in right hand.
Top and left margins with ivy-rinceaux ornament. Initials with pen flourishing.
