Evangelist, John: Scene, on Patmos -- Evangelist John, nimbed, seated on Patmos, writes with quill on scroll draped across knee, inscribed IOHANEM. To his left, winged devil, in air, holds inkpot in right hand and raises left hand. Rays of light from sun, appearing in arch of frame, fall on Evangelist John.
