Jean Froissart: Chroniques, Book I, Chapter 150 -- French soldiers in full armor, including Geoffrey de Chargny, wearing surcoat decorated with arms, all carrying lances, attack English soldiers in full armor, including Walter de Mauny, wearing surcoat decorated with arms, emerging from building. French soldier carries standard of Geoffrey de Chargny. English soldier carries standard of Walter de Mauny.
Text describes battle of Calais on December 31, 1348, between the French and the English.
