Catherine of Alexandria, crowned, seated on cushion, reading from open book with pseudo-inscriptions held in lap. At her feet, strewn pieces of broken spiked wheel and sword. Behind her, man, eyes closed, wearing turban-like headgear, laying prone with head propped up on left hand.
Scene in grassy garden with wattled fence, behind which runs stream and hilly landscape, bridge and castle buildings in distance.
Miniature within arched gold frame decorated with knotted interlace for beginning of Suffrage to Catherine of Alexandria.
Margins decorated with floreate and foliate decoration, including daisies and strawberries, and inhabited by man, wearing cap, mounted on bull-like creature, holding its tail (upper left) and bird, possibly sparrow or pigeon (lower left).
