Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, nimbed, with crown of thorns, wearing short loincloth, head inclined, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INR[I] (John 19:19). Sun and moon flank top of the cross. Longinus, wearing headdress and armor pierces His side with spear. Christ is flanked by two crosses: man, wearing short loincloth, is tied to each cross with arms over cross bar. Head of man at left is inclined, eyes shut; man at right has eyes open.
At left are two Holy Women, nimbed and veiled with wimple, Evangelist John, nimbed, holding Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled with wimple, hands joined, possibly swooning. At right are man, possibly Longinus of Jerusalem, wearing hat, with purse at waist, indicating Christ with left hand; and soldiers wearing armor, three holding spears, one holding lance, astride horse and looking up toward Christ.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including strawberry and daisy, and inhabited by bird.
