Innocents: Massacre -- Herod the Great, wearing triple-crowned tiara and armor, holding sword in right hand, sits on throne under canopy, behind two soldiers, wearing helmets, one stabbing swaddled infant with dagger, and the other transfixing nude infant with sword, beside veiled mother, kneeling with joined hands raised above her head.
Margins decorated with border of floral and foliate ornament, inhabited by eagle and half-figure of angel playing rebec.
