1) Benedict of Montecassino: Scene, Chastised Monk -- Benedict, nimbed, tonsured, in monk's habit, raises rod in right hand and places left hand on raised right arm of tonsured monk whose habit is pulled by one of two winged devils, the other flying above.
To right, inside church, three tonsured monks, including two with hands raised, stand before draped altar on which are cross and two flaming candles in candlesticks.
Scene caption on frame, HIC DUM DECIPITUR NE POSSIT SOLUERE UOTA. UIRGA CORRIPITUR ET ABIT TEMPTATIO TOTA.
2) Benedict of Montecassino: Scene, Monks complaining of carrying Water afar -- Beside church building, Benedict, nimbed, tonsured, in monk's habit, sits on draped animal bench, with right hand on open book with two straps on foliate lectern, raising left hand toward four tonsured monks, the foremost in profile, gesturing.
