Divina Commedia, Purgatorio: Scene, Pageant of Church -- Statius of Naples, wearing loin cloth, stands behind Dante, wearing hat, bending forward over river. On the other side of the river is Beatrice, veiled, seated in chariot pulled by griffin, raising her right hand. Behind her stand personifications of cardinal virtues, wearing wreaths of flowers. To right is group of nimbed angels.
