Divina Commedia, Purgatorio: Scene, Pageant of Church -- Statius of Naples, wearing loin cloth, stands behind Dante, wearing hat, standing with arms crossed on his breast beside river Lethe. On the other side of the river is Beatrice, veiled, seated in chariot pulled by griffin, raising her right hand. Behind her stand four personifications of cardinal virtues, wearing wreaths of flowers.
