Roman de la Rose: Scene, Genius excommunicating Enemies of Procreation -- Group of Personifications, including False Seeming, wearing diadem, Wealth, holding pouch, Forced Abstinence and Chastity (?), as Dominican friar and nun, holding staffs, and God of Love (Eros), crowned, holding flaming torch and bow, all before tonsured priest representing Personification of Genius, wearing vestments, with right hand raising flaming torch and with left hand holding open book with pseudo-inscriptions, standing at draped lectern.
In background, two work men, wearing hats, one driving plow drawn by horse and one pruning branches. Castle on hill in distance.
