Miniature, upper left: 1) Christ: Parable, Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30) -- Before crenellated city gate with tower, man, wearing hat, raises scimitar with right hand and lowers left hand to grasp head of man kneeling on ground. Miniature, lower left: 2) Christ: Parable, Good Samaritan (Luke 10:33-34) -- Good Samaritan, wearing hat, holds cup with left hand and extends spoon with right hand to man sitting on ground beside crenellated tower. In background, stands bridled horse and two tonsured men, one raising right hand with book under left arm, both departing to left. Miniature, upper right: 3) Christ: Miracle of healing Servant of Centurion -- Christ, cross-nimbed, gathers garment with left hand and raises right hand in blessing toward Servant of Centurion, orant, accompanied by group of six men, three wearing hats. Miniature, lower right: 4) Christ: Miracle of raising Widow’s Son -- Accompanied by two veiled woman, youthful male emerges from crenellated city gate supporting with shoulders one end of strecher, the other end held by another youthful male, a third youthful male, partly draped, sits on the stretcher with joined hands raised, looking toward Christ, cross-nimbed, accompanied by three nimbed apostles, including Apostle Peter. Miniatures are proofs for Bernhart Richel’s Spiegel der Menschlichen Behältnis (Basel: 1476) with biblical quotes, commentary and abbreviated extracts, written in German, for Christ’s Parables and Miracles appearing between Chapters 42 and 43
