Christ: Miracle of healing Dropsical Man (Luke 14:1-6) -- Accompanied by three nimbed apostles (partly visible), Christ, cross-nimbed, raises right hand in blessing toward bearded man, holding walking stick with right hand, and supported at shoulders by two men wearing hats, accompanied by a third man wearing hat. Miniature is proof for Bernhart Richel’s Spiegel der Menschlichen Behältnis (Basel: 1476) with biblical quotes, commentary and abbreviated extracts, written in German, for Christ’s Miracle appearing between Chapter 42 and 43.
