Maccabees Seven: Martyrdom -- Five Maccabees and mother, all nimbed, stand behind sixth Maccabee, nimbed, as executioner cuts tongue from his mouth. Two men, one holding scepter, look on.
Beside them, seventh Maccabee, nimbed, kneels before chopping block, both his feet and his right hand have been severed. An executioner, grasping his left hand, raises axe.
To right, two men roast feet and right hand of seventh Maccabee in fire. One man holds pan. The other holds pitchfork.
