Evangelist, John: Letter II -- In upper loop of initial S, John, nimbed, raises right hand and with left, holds scroll hanging down to lower loop, where it is touched by right hand of man and left hand of woman, veiled.
Scene within initial decorated with foliate ornament.
Half figure of man raising right hand in initial G decorated with foliate ornament.
Evangelist, John: Letter III -- In upper loop of initial S, John, nimbed, holds bood with lefth and with right holds scroll hanging down to lower loop, where it is grasped by both hands of man.
Scene within initial decorated with animal head, and with foliate ornament and with foliate extender.
Margin:
Gold balls, and vines, one inhabited by hybrid animal with head of stag, decorated with balls and foliate ornament terminating in foliate medallion.
