Bust of Christ, enclosed in pearled crossed nimbus, beardless, surmounting upper stem of cross of triple traverse, decorated in panels of interlace and pattern, with heads of angels, pearled nimbi, with wings issuing diagonally from center of the cross on mound, flanked above by heads of Personifications of Sun and Moon, and below at left by Mughal Khat’un, veiled, kneeling as donor with extended hands, and nimbed man, possibly priest and Khat’un’s husband Mkrtich, standing and extending book, and at right by veiled woman, possibly [SHACEK]am[shacek]i Lamar, kneeling as donor with extended hands.
Inscriptions in Armenian: 1) Christ, inscribed THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON CAME IN CLOUDS FROM HEAVEN; 2) below left above Mughal Khat’un as female donor, inscribed: REMEMBER MOGHAL KHATOUN THE OWNER OF THIS; 3) below right above [SHACEK]am[shacek]i Lamar female donor, inscribed: REMEMBER ONCE MORE SAMSI LAMAR; 4) in bottom margin, inscribed: REMEMBER IN CHRIST, MINAS, THE PAINTER, AND MAY GOD REMEMBER YOU.
