Christ: Betrayal and Arrest and Apostle, Peter: cutting off Ear of Malchus -- Christ, nimbed, holding ear of Malchus in right hand, is embraced and kissed by Judas. At left, Apostle Peter, nimbed, sheaths sword, standing behind Malchus, bleeding from right side of head, kneeling, supporting himself with right hand, holding lantern with left hand. All are surrounded by soldiers wearing helmets and armor, one with sheathed sword at waist, others holding spears, two holding torches. In background is tall square arch, and city, all beneath starry sky with crescent moon.
Miniature within arched frame supported by columns and architectural elements.
Margins decorated with floreate and foliate ornament, including large branches, rose, viola, and strawberry, and inhabited by birds, and hybrid animals, one snapping at fly.
