Apocalypse: John, Vision of Open Door in Heaven -- John, nimbed, is seated on island in landscape. With both hands, he holds book open on his lap; inkpot and pen-case are at his feet. Above, in mandorla with rays, God, wearing cross-surmounted imperial crown, raising right hand in blessing, resting left hand on globe, is seated on throne with footrest. Elders, twenty visible, some only heads, ten with joined hands, all kneeling, surround the throne. Four Beasts flank the throne. All surrounded by two arcs of angels, most with hands joined, and by clouds. Illustration of Revelation 5:11.
