Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, crossed nimbus, with crown of thorns, wearing loincloth, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to cross. He is surrounded by eight angels, nimbed, one holding left hand to face and extending right hand toward Him, two raising both arms, one covering face with hands, one with joined hands, and three holding chalices to collect blood from wounds in His hands and side. Below are Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled possibly with wimple, orant, and Evangelist John, nimbed, holding book with draped left hand, raising right hand, head turned away from the crucifix.
Background of gold diaper.
Margins decorated with border of gold rinceaux some sprouting from barbed quatrifoils one each corner of frame enclosing miniature. Gold cross with trilobe terminations in lower margin.
Miniature precedes Canon of the Mass.
