Evangelist John, rays as nimbus, raising right hand, holding with left hand chalice in which are two serpents, stands before decorated dado and wall with gold scroll work.
Blue heads appear above arch inside frame of miniature.
Margins decorated with border of gold rinceaux inhabited by bird, hybrid man with candle surmounting head, and hybrid animal holding club with right hand and round shield (buckler) with left hand. Gold geometric ornament at each corner of miniature.
