John Baptist: Beheading -- John Baptist, nimbed, kneels with joined hands, head bent. Executioner raises sword above his head. Salome holds charger. In background, in banquet room decorated with statues in niches and relief figures in roundels, servant stands to side of table, at which sit Herod Antipas, crowned, and Herodias (Herod Antipas: Feast).
