Tower of Baris -- Two soldiers, wearing helmets and mail, hold spears with right hands and shields with left. They are standing on crenellated parapet, flanked by two crenellated towers
Scene caption, HEC TURIS DICIT(UM) BARIS ET SIGNIFICAT BEATAM UIRGI(N)EM, is inscribed in upper margin.
Right column:
Song of Solomon: Tower of David -- Tower with crenellated top is hung with eight shields, three with heraldic decoration, including: heraldry, possibly of the Thirkill (Thirkell) family of York (charged with a chevron between three leopards' faces ); heraldry, possibly, of the Colville family of York (a fesse and in chief 3 bezants); escutcheon decorated with a bend sinister.
