Gregory XI, inscribed DOMINUS PETRUS BELLIFORTIS DEINDE GREGORIUS VNDECIM PAPA, wearing triple-crowned papal tiara, holds staff with right hand, looks toward helmeted soldier, with left hand holding shield and with right raising sword, stayed by Hand of God emerging from starry arc of heaven at upper right. Between the figures are two upright swords and to right are three spears. Below text, motto of Pope Gregory XI, FLORES RUBEI AQUAM ODERIFERAM DISTILLABUNT. Folio numbered "XIIII" at upper margin.
