John Baptist: Beheading -- John Baptist's body, beheaded, wearing garment of skins, falls within doorway of prison. Executioner, holding sword in right hand, extends charger with head of John Baptist to Salome, standing within doorway of architectural setting in which Herod Antipas and Herodius are seated in front of patterned hanging at table surmounted by platters of meats, goblets, and other utensils. On other side of table, one servant holds bowl into which second servant pours water.
