Two scenes within miniature:
1) Mamertinus of Auxerre: praying to Idols -- Within architectural setting, Mamertinus of Auxerre, kneeling, hat on floor, prays before two nude idols, one male and one female, surmounting columns. Male idol holds spear and shield.
2) Mamertinus of Auxerre: entering Monastery -- To right, within monastery, Mamertinus (represented twice), nimbed, tonsured, wearing white tunic, receives black habit from monk. Two other monks and abbot, hooded, holding crozier, look on.
