Livres des Merveilles du Monde: Scene, Cyprus -- To left, corpse wrapped as mummy is reclining on side of rock beside carved niche for tomb. Man, wearing turban-like headgear, holds two halves of apple in hands, beneath fruit tree with ten apples. To right, inside cross-surmounted church, three men, possibly including pilgrim, with hat tied to back and pouch fastened to belt, kneel and extend hands toward another man, possibly priest, also kneeling; all before cross (Cross of Dismas). Scene in hilly landscape with cross-surmounted buildings in far left. Initial C of Chippre decorated with foliate ornament. Miniature for Livre de Merveilles du Monde for Cyprus.
