Evangelist, John: boiled in Oil -- Within room, Evangelist John, nimbed, hands raised, is seated in cauldron. He is flanked by two tormentors stoking fire with sticks. One tormentor operates bellows machine. A third tormentor, to left, partially visible, carries faggot towards cauldron.
