Miniature divided into four parts by waterways, with two ships:
1) Legend, Aeneid: Antenor building Venice -- Four men, wearing hats, stand behind Antenor, wearing hat, gesturing toward man, wearing towel at waist and holding hat, before two men, wearing hats, one with sword sheathed at waist, all before city of Venice, including campanile of Piazza San Marco, under construction, with four men working within walls.
2) Legend, Aeneid: men, wearing caps, work with pickaxes outside walls of city of Carthage, under construction, and two men, one wearing hat and holding trowel, and the other holding hat, within walls. At right, man, wearing hat, with towel at waist, stands before Aeneas and two other men, all wearing hats.
3) Legend, Aeneid:, Dido building Carthage -- Before walls of city of Carthage are three men, one wearing hat and chiseling stone, one wearing towel, holding hat in right hand, and the third kneeling beside hat before Dido, wearing crown and headdress, flanked by four women, all wearing headdresses. Within walls, three men, two wearing hats, one holding hat in right hand, build city.
4) Legend, City of Rome: Building of Rome -- Before walls of city of Rome, under construction, with five men working within walls, are two men, one, wearing hat, cutting stone with mallet and chisel, and the other, holding hat, kneeling before Romulus, wearing crown, beside two men, wearing hats.
In right margin, centaur, wearing hat or helmet, carries club on right shoulder. In lower margin, flanking arms of Fran³´ois de Baraton, man, at left, wearing hat and horn, aims spear toward leaping stag, at right.
Margins decorated with floreate ornament; outer margins of blue, with pattern of stars and the letter S.
