Scene, Liturgical: Celebration of Mass -- Bishop, tonsured, wearing liturgical vestments with joined hands raised, bows before draped altar on which is open book inscribed TE IGITUR CLEME(N)TISSI(ME). Next to the book are chalice possibly on burse, and covered with paten on which is inscribed wafer (host), and miter with infulae. Altar flanked by two rods from which hang curtains.
Background of gold diaper.
Margins decorated with border of foliate rinceaux some sprouting from rectilinear bars enclosing text or from open mouth of fantastic animal in upper margin.
Beginning of canon of the Mass.
