Two scenes within miniature:
1) Gorgonius and Dorotheus of Nicomedia: Torture -- Gorgonius and Dorotheus of Nicomedia, both nimbed, nude, are bound by ropes to gridiron set over fire. Three executioners, including one with sword and scabbard at belt, stoke flames with poles. Four men, including, one holding scepter in right hand, look on.
2) Gorgonius and Dorotheus of Nicomedia: Martyrdom -- To right, Gorgonius and Dorotheus (represented twice), both nimbed, wearing tunics, hang from gallows. Executioner, on ladder, fastens rope to gallows.
Above, two angels bear nude souls of Gorgonius and Dorotheus to heaven in cloth. God, nimbed, appears in arc of heaven.
In background is landscape with buildings.
