Two scenes within miniature:
1) Euphemia of Chalcedon: Martyrdom -- Group of men, including one hooded and another holding staff pointed toward ground and wearing tunic inscribed A.I.E, look on as executioner raises sword above Euphemia of Chalcedon, nimbed, kneeling, hands crossed at breast, amid serpent-like beasts, some winged. Second executioner, sword on ground beside him, falls into pit, and is eaten by beasts.
Beyond pit, beside church, crowd gathers around Euphemia, nimbed (represented twice).
2) Euphemia of Chalcedon: Torture -- To right, Euphemia (represented three times) is seated on wheel under which man burns.
In background is landscape.
