Two scenes within miniature:
1) Magi: Adoration -- In upper corner, star emits rays of light that shine through window of stable. Below, within stable, Virgin Mary, nimbed, seated on bed, holds Christ Child, rayed cross nimbus, nude, in lap. Eldest magus, kneeling on one knee, holding crown in left hand, extends goblet toward Christ Child. Two other magi, crowned, each holding gold vessel, one with sword, gesture towards Christ Child. Joseph the Carpenter, nimbed, raising right hand, looks on from behind wattled fence.
To left of stable, ass and ox eat hay in rack.
2) Magi: Journey -- In background, to right, Magi (represented twice) ride on horseback toward stable within landscape with shepherd and sheep on hill and building.
