Evangelist Mark, nimbed, holding pen held with right hand above inkpot on stand, and holding book on lectern with left hand, is seated on cushioned bench. Plant or branch of tree is above his right hand. At top, medallion encloses winged evangelist symbol, lion, holding book with two front paws. The medallion is inscribed with cross and AVIA TERRIBILI PERSTRINGIT FAMINE MARCUS SCRIBITUR ET SPECIES INDE LEONIS EI.
All is enclosed in arch supported by columns with capitals, decorated with foliate ornament and interlace.
