Christ: Flight into Egypt -- Joseph the Carpenter, nimbed, wearing hat, walks at head of bridled ass, holding rein with left hand, looking back over left shoulder at Virgin Mary, nimbed, seated sideways on ass holding, with both hands, Christ Child, nimbed, touching His left cheek to her right cheek. Virgin Mary and Joseph wear garments in grisaille.
Scene in hilly landscape with trees, with building in background, possibly church with chimney (?) and buildings in distance on hill.
Miniature enclosed in architectural frame decorated with: two putti on top each reaching back to two groups of three putti, backturned, one winged, two supporting or lifting the third; three putti on each capital as atlantes; foliate ornament; two putti, three winged, amid foliage on each column.
