Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Beneath rays, Archangel Gabriel, nimbed, kneels, holding floreate scepter in left hand, and indicating with right hand toward Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, seated, with hands raised above open book with pseudo-inscription on lap. Above right, Dove of Holy Ghost, cross(?)-nimbed, descends in rays toward her head. Scene in interior with decorative paneled walls and tiled floor. Decorated initial D inhabited by bird. Miniature and text within architectural frame of two columns supporting pediment. Illustration at beginning of Matins of the Hours of the Virgin.
