Stephen Protomartyr: Stoning -- Stephen, nimbed, wearing deacon's vestments, bleeding from wounds in head kneels surrounded by three executioners, one partially out of miniature, one raising stone with right hand, holding other stone in pouch with left hand, and the third kneeling on ground picking up with right hand one of many stones on ground, several bloody. In background, one of four or five men holds raised sword with right hand. Above, two half-figures appear in arc of Heaven from which rays descend.

Border around two sides of the miniature of blue vining foliate ornament, one section terminating with bird. All on gold ground.
