Christ: bearing Cross -- Christ, crossed nimbus, carries cross on right shoulder. Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, touches arm of cross with right hand. Evangelist John, nimbed, walks beside her. At right are eight soldiers, two carrying spears, the foremost holding rope attached to Christ. City is in background.
