Within room, Evangelist Luke, decorated nimbus, is seated in chair with lapdesk next to opened window, his right foot on footstool. He is writing his Gospel on scroll. The portion of the scroll falling over edge of lapdesk is inscribed upside-down with text from Luke 1:26; the beginning lines of text are hidden in rolls of scroll. Above him is shelf with book lying on its side.
To right, sitting in doorway leading to another room, is ox, holding scroll inscribed S. LUCAM in its mouth. Next to ox is book with two straps, inclined against column comprising right border of frame.
Miniature and text framed by decorative border of foliate design.
