Initial D:
Shepherds: Annunciation -- Three shepherds, with flock of sheep, respond to three angels, bearing scrolls, in upper border. One shepherd, standing, with staff, points toward angels with left hand. Second shepherd, reclining on ground, raises head and right hand. Third shepherd, kneeling on one knee, with staff, raises right hand to face.
Scene occurs within decorated initial D.
Margins:
Foliate border, including rosettes and candelabrum forms, frames text.
In upper border, three angels, nimbed, hold scroll inscribed GLORIA IN EXCELCIS DEO ET IN TERRA PAX HOMINIBUS BONAE UOLUNTATIS.
In left border, putto plays lute.
