Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, cross-nimbed, eyes closed, head inclined, in long loin cloth, with His blood flowing from wounds in hands, side, and feet, is affixed with three nails to cross. He is flanked above by sun and crescent moon amid clouds, and below by Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with her hands clasped, and Evangelist John, nimbed, with his right hand on his breast and book in his left hand.
Scene with gold background, within decorated initial D embellished with filigree in spandrels. Margins decorated with foliate extensions, and inhabited by dog and stag running toward the dog in the lower margin.
