Christ: Bewailing -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, holds in her lap body of Christ, wearing short loin cloth, with wounds in head, feet, hands and side. Head of Christ is supported by draped hands of Evangelist John, nimbed, seated to left. To right is Mary Magdalen, nimbed, holding ointment jar in both hands. In background flanking tau cross with titulus inscribed INRI are Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, both wearing hats, one holding crown of thorns and the other holding three nails, and Holy Woman, nimbed, wearing wimpled veil. Buildings on hills in distant background.
Floreate margins inhabited by fantastic animal.
